What do we do if we see clear disbelief from these rulers?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Even, O Shaykh, if we saw, for example, clear disbelief from one of these rulers, even, O Shaykh, if we saw clear disbelief from them?

The Shaykh : Excuse me, what would you do?

The questioner : No. What do we do if we see clear disbelief from them?

The Shaykh : The answer is what you heard.

The questioner : I did not hear you.

The Shaykh : I did not hear what you just said to me.

The questioner : Even if we are driven out of our homes.

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar! Was the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) driven out of his home? Subhan Allah! I do not hear. We are more expansive than some might think. We say the words by which we declare our religion to Allah, but let us expand a little. What can we do if we see clear disbelief? What can we do when we have not achieved the two previous pillars? Is the question clear?

The questioner : Yes, that is clear.

The Shaykh : Okay. What is the answer?

The questioner : The answer is to be numerous, O Shaykh. Numerous in knowledge, numerous in military strength...

The Shaykh : And this is what we are going around in circles about, but what did you answer me? What do we do, I mean, toward these disbelievers from whom we have seen clear disbelief? What do we do? Do we have anything other than to repeat the first history? What did the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) do when he saw the idols on the back of the Ka'bah? What did he do? Did he smash them?

The questioner : But he disavowed them, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : You did not answer me.

The questioner : He did not smash them, but he disavowed them.

The Shaykh : So how was the disavowal?

The questioner : It was with the tongue.

The Shaykh : Okay, this is what we are saying. I see you collapsing quickly. Stand firm.
