Abu Layla’s statement regarding some brothers being honored with sweets at gatherings, and the Shaykh’s praise of Abu Layla concerning that statement

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Brothers, here is this statement. The sweets you are eating are on the account of our brother Zakariya Abd al-Fattah al-Shishani. He was in America, and now he has gone to jihad in Afghanistan. May Allah accept from him. He tasked us with buying sweets for some of our Shaykh’s gatherings (may Allah preserve him and reward him with all good for us). Pray for him in his absence. He also informs you that his brother Ali, the brother of Zakariya, is currently among us. May Allah reward you all with good.

The Shaykh : This statement is for the benefit of every Muslim. Many Muslims today fall into violating this statement, and thus they incur the sin of what he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The one who makes a false statement of that which one has not been given is like one who wears a garment of falsehood. المتشبع بما لم يُعطَ كلابس ثوبي زور
Sahih Muslim 2129
If it were not for this statement, what would the people sitting in this place understand? That this kunafa is from our brotherAbu Layla : Abu Layla, who is worthy of such things and better than them, if Allah wills. But since the reality is that this is not from him, and so that he not be included in what he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The one who boasts of what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood المتشبع بما لم يُعطَ فهو كلابس ثوبي زور
, he was compelled by his influence from this hadith and his upbringing based on the Sunnah to announce this statement. Perhaps the one who generously provided this honor for our brothers sitting here would not be pleased to be made famous, and this is a virtue associated with him. But so that he may be saved from the sin of concealing the matter and so that the sin mentioned in the previous hadith does not attach to him:
The one who boasts of what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood المتشبع بما لم يُعطَ فهو كلابس ثوبي زور
, this statement was made. In this is a reminder that benefits the listening Muslims, if Allah wills.
