The one who dies in a land far from his family and relatives and is buried in that land where he has no relatives: does this harm him in any way?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The one who dies in a land far from his family and relatives and is buried in that land where he has no relatives: does this harm him in any way or not?
The Shaykh : This does not harm him in any way, because a person, wherever he is buried in any land, will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection from his place. Therefore, it is not befitting for the deceased to will before his death that he be buried in such-and-such a land or such-and-such a land, because of the hardship and fatigue it causes for his family. His will in this regard is not required to be carried out because it is burdensome in one aspect, and we do not know of anyone from the Salaf who did this if the other land is far away. However, if he dies in the outskirts of the town and wills to be buried in the town itself, there is nothing wrong with that, but what requires travel is not among the actions of the Salaf, as far as I know. The person will find in the grave, of its bliss and its punishment, what he deserves, whether he is buried in his own land or in another land.
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh Muhammad.
