The Shaykh’s advice to the leaders of the mujahideen in Afghanistan after their victory over the communists, and the discussion of Ahmad Shah Massoud and Hekmatyar

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the jihad in Afghanistan and the result this jihad has reached, it was a surprise that many people did not expect. However, unfortunately, we feared the disagreements, news of which reached us from time to time, that occurred between some of the factions, parties, and groups that participated in the jihad to eliminate the communist party in that country. A sufficient example of this is the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) of the war that broke out between two groups among the mujahideen, one of the consequences of which was the killingThe Shaykh : of the honorable Jamil al-Rahman. Therefore, these real disagreements were a sign of great evil. Now, these consequences have materialized in the sad news we have received, where the disagreement is currently at its peak between the one who was able to enter Kabul, known as Ahmad Massoud Shah. We do not know whether his entry was driven by pure jihad for the sake of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, or whether it was supported by some who do not want success for the Muslims and the establishment of a Muslim state. But as it is said: "News comes from one you have not sent." Perhaps news will come later that reveals to us this truth that has occurred, which is that this man entered Kabul and was supported by the Shi'ah in Iran and by some other countries, which we know, with great regret, follow the Americans who are now trying to enslave people in all lands. The latest news we received is thatThe Shaykh : or the leader Hekmatyar issued an ultimatum to this Ahmad Massoud to remove his factions and the militias they call today from Kabul, or he would be forced to strike Kabul, meaning the mujahideen would fight each other. Therefore, we now have no right to intervene in such a disagreement whose consequences we do not know, because it is a fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), and we are commanded in times of fitnah to stay in our homes, as stated in an authentic hadith, namely his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Be like the carpets in your houses. كونوا أحلاس بيوتكم
. We, as individuals, but as for the Muslim states, with great regret, we have nothing to say to these states, because the Gulf fitnah was the greatest manifestation, to the extent that there is now no Muslim state that is independent enough to act with absolute freedom for the benefit of the Islamic da'wah. Therefore, we have nothing but to make the supplication of the drowning man, which is that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, facilitate for these mujahideen who shed their blood, and millions of Muslims in the path of expelling the communists from Afghanistan, especially from its capital Kabul, that He will grant victory to the sincere among them and let them enter this capital, for the purpose they previously declared, which is establishing the Muslim state, raising the banner of Islam, and making Islamic rulings the dominant ones in the Afghan state. That is what we hope for, and to Allah we belong and to Him we return. This is all I have in answer to this question.
