Is (Al-Muntaqim) among the names of Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : My question, O Shaykh, is that sometimes we hear the imam say: "O Allah, take revenge for us." Has "Al-Muntaqim" (The Avenger) been mentioned among the names and attributes of Allah, such that we can say: "Take revenge for us from such and such"?

The Shaykh : No, it is not necessary for "Al-Muntaqim" to be among His names for it to be permissible for us to say: "Take revenge." I mean, if we said, "O Lord, kill our enemies," we do not need to ask: Is "Al-Qatal" (Killing) among the names of Allah, Mighty and Majestic? No, because this is not a proper name. Is that clear?

The questioner : I mean, does He take revenge? Does He do it?

The Shaykh : There is no objection. From whom does He take revenge? From the oppressors and from the disbelievers.

The questioner : And Allah the Exalted says:
and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution. وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍ
[Ali 'Imran 3:4]
.

The Shaykh : It is an attribute, but "Al-Muntaqim" is not among His names.

The questioner : It is not among His names.

The Shaykh : Yes, so that the group did not reach them, O Abu al-Abd.

The questioner : The first time the phone rang...

The Shaykh : May Allah give you health, yes.
