The Shaykh’s warning to the Salafis, and specifically the callers to Islam among them, to be cautious of falling into violating the second condition, which is sincerity, and particularly showing off in worship, due to its severity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... and by the jurisprudential principle established by the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in his saying:
every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire كل بدعة ضلالة و كل ضلالة في النار
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1578Sahih (Darussalam)
This condition is one that most people are unaware of. As for those whom Allah has blessed by following the Sunnah and being guided by the guidance of the Master of the Ummah (may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him), they know the reality of this condition and adhere to it as much as they are able. So they should be alert to the second condition, from which no one is safe from falling short, neither these nor those, except whom Allah wills, and they are few. That is, no one is exempt from showing off, neither a Salafi nor a Khalafi; all people are exposed to showing off in their righteous deeds. The matter here is serious and very serious. Therefore, I wanted to mention on this occasion, and on other occasions, that you make your deeds righteous and sincere for the Face of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). Among the things we are tested with is that the test is not only with evil; it can also be with good.
And We test you with evil and with good as trial و نبلوكم بالشر و الخير فتنة
[Al-Anbya 21:35]
We are tested with the call to the Book and the Sunnah, this call that the masses of Muslims in the east and west of the earth have neglected, until these callers have truly become strangers, not only in foreign lands but in their own homeland. They are strangers among their colleagues, indeed strangers among their relatives and their brothers. This is something they are praised for, and they should not seek praise for their call, but this is the reality because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers. إن الإسلام بدأ غريبا و سيعود غريبا فطوبى للغرباء
Sunan Ibn Majah 3987Hasan (Darussalam)
"Blessed are these strangers." This is praise and commendation for these strangers, and in common expression it is "they are the ones who attain", and in the legal sense, it is a tree in Paradise under which a traveler walks for a hundred years without reaching the end of it. So it is as if this hadith congratulates the strangers on the Paradise in which is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has not occurred to the heart of any human being. Among that is this tree whose mention came in the Qur'an:
So blessed are they and excellent is their return فطوبى لهم و حسن مئاب
"Blessed" is for whom? For the strangers. Who are they? The explanation came from the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):
who correct what the people have corrupted from my Sunnah after me الذين يصلحون ما أفسد الناس من سنتي من بعدي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2630Da'if (Darussalam)
These strangers who revive the Sunnah and call to reviving the Sunnah and killing what contradicts it of religious innovation must observe the second condition in righteous work, which is that they be sincere in this call, not seeking behind it fame, or pride, or ... or anything that pleases the soul that commands evil. Rather, they call because Allah (Mighty and Majestic) commanded the call to the Book and the Sunnah, and they call to what the masses of Muslims have neglected. So it is their right to be concerned with this call, but they are in danger when the soul of one of these callers to following the Book and the Sunnah whispers to him to speak words seeking only to be pointed to with the finger, not seeking to advise people, or guide them, or teach them, but rather fame. And here comes a word from some of the Sufis, and they have a status that cannot be denied, which is their saying: "Love of fame cuts off fame". And this is the reality. Therefore, I insist on this second condition for us, the callers to the Sunnah, that we be sincere in our deeds, so that when our deed enters with us, it is a helper and supporter for a good answer if we are asked: Who is your Lord? Who is your Prophet? What is your religion? And it illuminates us from the darkness that surrounds us in our graves. And so on. But if it is a bad deed, the opposite is the opposite: it disowns its doer when he descends into his grave. It comes to him in the ugliest form and asks him: Who are you? He says to it: I am your bad deed. And the opposite is the opposite. And we do not multiply more than this. The intention is that the work that should enter with us when we leave our families and our wealth is only the righteous work with two conditions: conformity to the Book and the Sunnah, and that it be pure for the Face of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He).

The questioner : You have been generous in explaining that religious innovation ... I think that many of the young people do not understand this meaning ...

The Shaykh : Make it a question at the end of the lesson.
