If he is afflicted with a disease of hair loss or hair growth, what is the ruling?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ... ... .

The Shaykh : My brother, there are diseases there; these are not diseases. I mean, the matter is getting mixed up for you. The fact that a man does not have a beard is not a disease. So I gave you an example earlier regarding the population that is counted in the millions, and they are the Chinese, and individuals living in every part of the world. The nature and disposition of this population is that they have beards. There are also people who do not have beards. So calling this a disease is, in reality, an extreme exaggeration, for no reason other than to make the matter permissible, while the texts of the Shari'ah forbid it. So when you come to cases that actually prove that it is a disease and an affliction, and that it is not permanent and eternal from the creation of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), then this takes the second ruling. So why do you come to mix up the matter, which is a disease phenomenon, whether it is as the brother here says, it may be that he was in his mother's womb, or it occurred afterwards? Why do we make this of this kind? We say this is the creation of Allah. Our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) wants to create of this type. I mean, four types: men without beards, excuse me; women without beards, and men with beards, and men without beards, and women with beards. This is not a disease. This is a sound creation from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for the aforementioned wisdom. Why do you call it a disease? Call it a disease what a person actually feels is a disease, and there is harm, and there is such and so. So mixing up the two matters is very strange.

Eid Abbasi : I mean, the disease was not accompanied by pain, that is one thing.

The Shaykh : Pain, and it is not necessary that it be only pain; there may be harm and so on.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : My dear, we did not differ, there is no benefit from... the specific case... the matter. I say: if that is afflicted upon her, she is treated. But if Allah created her that way, it is not permissible to treat it ever. What is the difference if a man treated his beard so that his beard would not grow? Let us see? A man treated himself after Allah created him a man, and he treated himself. And we read in some of the magazines we read that there are attempts to get rid of men's beards, for example. What is the difference between this?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : You are now... a defect. You are now calling it a defect; I mean, negatively. I am telling you: what is the difference? Tell me: what is the ruling on this one who treats his beard so that it does not grow?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Fine; and who created that one?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : When it is a disease, I am with you. But what is the evidence that this is a disease? I mean, is the fact that a man has no beard a disease?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : I am asking you now, I am asking you a question.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, there is disagreement in the definition of disease; and so you tell me: the bald one is sick!! Say, look?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : My dear, there is none, this speech is sometimes, and sometimes I know it, I... the bald one that Allah created him this way is sick? Why do you not speak? But I mean, we need to speak about the cases that may proceed, and the apparent case is sometimes a disease and sometimes it is not a disease. I say if it is a temporary disease, it is treated. When it is not a disease, is it treated?!

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Why? You stop like you stop this stop here, stop it there, or are you one of the supporters of women?
