Did it reach us from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was subjected to sorcery? And if a person is subjected to sorcery now, how is the sorcery removed from him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Did it reach us from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he was subjected to sorcery? And if a person is subjected to sorcery in our time, is it permissible to remove that sorcery? And how is it removed?

The Shaykh : As for whether it is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was subjected to sorcery, the answer is: Yes. The hadith is in "Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim" from the narration of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). There is no doubt that sorcery can befall the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). However, we say that what befell the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in the form of sorcery was a type of illness that he was afflicted with due to the sorcery practiced by that known Jew, "Labid ibn al-A'sam." And the removal of this sorcery that befell the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was by the revelation of the two Mu'awwidhat:
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
,
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
[An-Nas 114:1]
. Therefore, whoever is afflicted with something of sorcery of the type of the work of the jinn's devils cooperating with some of the devils of mankind, there is no known material medical treatment for it; not even among the disbelievers. Rather, it is seeking refuge in Allah with these two surahs, the Mu'awwidhat, and with what came from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) of the known Mu'awwidhat.
As for how it is possible to discover that Zayd or Zaynab among the people is a man or woman subjected to sorcery; this is a matter we do not know. Perhaps it can be discovered by the behaviors surrounding this person subjected to sorcery. These behaviors are what make his relatives, who are around him, feel that he is afflicted with something of sorcery. At that time, we advise not to frequent those who have appointed themselves to treat sorcery, especially by seeking the aid of the jinn. For these people are themselves sorcerers who seek the aid of the jinn, in their claim, to nullify the sorcery. They may nullify one sorcery and establish another. So there is no way to know whether one was subjected to sorcery or was ill, except by studying the situation of this person who is claimed to be subjected to sorcery. And there is no treatment for it except seeking aid from the Book of Allah with the two Mu'awwidhat and others of what came in the Sunnah.
