Untangling sorcery with similar sorcery
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6285 ):
Q2: One of the sisters sent a question to my wife stating that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was subjected to sorcery, the sorcery was not lifted from him until Jibril (peace be upon him) came to him and informed him of what had happened, as is established and authentic. So, is it permissible for someone who has performed a work (of sorcery) to untie it? (This is the wording of the asking sister). She says: This is what she understood when reading the tafsir of Surat al-Falaq in Ibn Kathir . I hope for clarification of the correct ruling.
A2: It is not permissible to untie sorcery with similar sorcery. It is recommended for one who is afflicted with sorcery to seek treatment through lawful means, such as ruqyah with the Qur'an and using permissible medicines and drugs; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
And he may also untie it by extracting what was used for the sorcery, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did when he knew its location. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Seek medical treatment, but do not seek treatment with that which is forbidden, for Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has sent down for it a cure.
