The Shaykh mentioned a summary of what he stated at the end of the previous lesson regarding what was reported in the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him).

The Shaykh : ... and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own souls and from the badness of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can mislead, and whoever He misleads, no one can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger,
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
,
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
,
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
. As for what follows:
Indeed, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that:
Our last lesson, and the one before it, was on commenting on the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who said:
The rights of a Muslim on the Muslims are five
Sahih al-Bukhari 1240
. We have read the hadith to you repeatedly, and the other narration is:
Six. ست
. And this sixth one is his saying (peace be upon him):
And if he seeks your advice, then advise him.
. We spoke about this phrase with what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) facilitated in the last lesson, and the summary of the discussion was that advice is obligatory from a Muslim to a Muslim, whether it is requested from him or not, but it is more emphatic and stronger when it is requested from him; at that time, it becomes more incumbent upon him to advise his Muslim brother.
We clarified this somewhat, and we promised to explain that advice may sometimes require the advisor to mention something that is usually criticized, both customarily and by the Shari'ah, and is even considered backbiting; and yet, in the path of advice, that is tolerated, indeed permissible, and indeed sometimes obligatory.
