The Shaykh 'Ayd 'Abassi's address on the topic of Salafism: its reality, its history, and its position toward other calls.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Eid Abbasi : ... I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
The topic we are discussing is the Salafi call; what is its reality? What is meant by it? A glimpse of its history, and then its position toward other calls in general terms. I apologize to you for not preparing for this sufficiently, as I had some ... today ... and accepting the excuse ... speed.
The Salafi call is named after the Salaf. Linguistically, they are the predecessors. In technical usage, they refer to the people of the three blessed centuries, about whom praise came from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in his saying:
The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then after that will come people who testify but are not testified to, who betray but are not trusted, and in whom lying becomes widespread.
. So, by the testimony of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the people of these three centuries are the best of the centuries. There is no doubt that their guidance, their method, and their characteristics are the best guidance, the best practices, and the best methods. The Salaf are contrasted with the Khalaf, who are those who came after these three centuries.
