The Shaykh mentions some of the doubts raised by the Mu'attilah and refutes them, including the verse of Allah the Exalted: "And He is with you wherever you are," and explains what is meant by "withness" (mu'ayyah) in the verse.

The Shaykh : Among these doubts is the aforementioned verse [Al-Hadid 57:4]. We must know that this verse is like what Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said to Musa and Harun: [Taha 20:46]. The verse contains an explanation of the "withness" mentioned in it: [Taha 20:46], meaning in knowledge and sight. The verse does not mean that I am with you in the sense of mixing with you, as Harun was with Musa, or Musa with Harun. If the Lord of the Worlds were to be with the servants in the sense of mixing and mingling with them constantly and forever, then Allah's saying to them: [Taha 20:46] would be a tautology, because if the matter were as the Mu'attilah claim, that Allah is in every place, then wherever Musa and Harun were, Allah would be with them. So what is the meaning of our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, saying to Musa and Harun: , if He is with them constantly and forever? No, this is a "withness" of an attribute, not a "withness" of essence: , with the attribute of hearing and seeing.
Likewise,[An-Nahl 16:128] this is also a "withness" of an attribute, with those who fear Allah, in the form of assistance, support, success, and the like of attributes that befit only the believers.
There is a general presence and a special presence , [An-Nahl 16:128] and a special presence also for the righteous and those who do good. And there is a general presence, which is what the previous verse indicated [Al-Hadid 57:4] , meaning that He is with you by His knowledge. This is how the scholars of the Salaf (may Allah be pleased with them) interpreted the verse: by His knowledge , interpreting it in the verse of [Ali 'Imran 3:5] .
