The Shaykh’s remarks on the ruling regarding bringing non-Muslims into the Arabian Peninsula.

The questioner : The Shaykh was responding to the issue of bringing Christians in as workers to the Arabian Peninsula; he specified that he did not mean the Levant or, rather, lands outside the Arabian Peninsula, relying on...

The Shaykh : This, of course, qualifies the previous brother’s question, but the answer remains the same, because the usage we mentioned was in the Arab lands. In reality, it refers to a hadith, but I believe that although that hadith is authentic and found in the books of the Sunnah, the time has not yet come to implement and realize it, which is
Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula لا يجتمع دينان في جزيرة العرب
Muwatta Malik 45:18

The questioner : Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And peace be upon you. The Rightly Guided Caliphs, let alone those who came after them, allowed non-Muslims to remain in the Arabian Peninsula. During the time of the Rightly Guided Caliphs and those after them, non-Muslims, including Jews, Christians, and even Zoroastrians, remained in the Muslim lands and were not expelled from the abodes of Islam, as 'Umar ibn al-Khattab expelled the Jews from Khaybar. However, this does not mean that this hadith should be implemented one day when the conditions are met and circumstances assist in its realization. We do not doubt that the rulers of the Muslims today are, in fact, severely negligent in implementing and executing certain Islamic rulings that are much easier to implement than that hadith.
Two deens shall not co-exist in the Arabian Peninsula لا يبقى دينان في جزيرة العرب
Muwatta Malik 45:18
I mean, if we were to say frankly that if the Muslim states were to dispense with a group of these employees who believe they have the power to act freely in the affairs of the Muslim state itself, that would be a major step. But to say... that everyone who is not Muslim must leave the Arabian Peninsula, this means a matter that is first, practically impossible to implement, and second, premature, because there are matters that are more important and easier to realize than that general ruling.

The questioner : Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And peace be upon you and Allah’s mercy. Perhaps I have already answered you.

The questioner : Yes, may Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : And you. We wanted to know what the honorable Shaykh’s opinion is.
Another questioner: I have no opinion...

The Shaykh : Blessed is Allah. Perhaps you can also benefit us and strengthen us.

The questioner : By Allah, we... but we are just coming to benefit... we have... we will help you with the expenses.

The Shaykh : ... May Allah bless you.

The questioner : We are coming.

The Shaykh : May Allah strengthen you, my brother. May Allah bless you.

The questioner : ... .
