Our duty regarding the bringing of disbelievers into the Arabian Peninsula

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
His Eminence the Shaykh: Lately, the bringing of disbelievers into the Arabian Peninsula has become very common. What is our duty toward them and toward those who bring them?

This phenomenon that I mentioned, which is: The large-scale bringing of disbelievers into the lands of the Muslims in the Arabian Peninsula is undoubtedly a phenomenon that portends danger; for when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned and warned of what would happen in the future, it was said: “O Messenger of Allah! Will we be destroyed while there are righteous people among us?”He said: “Yes, if evil becomes widespread.” The prevalence of evil includes two meanings: The first meaning is that evil becomes widespread among the people of the Peninsula, so that they commit sins.

And the second: The second is that evil becomes widespread among those who come to the Peninsula and visit it, and there is nothing clearer or more evident than the great masses of disbelievers who come to the Arabian Peninsula.
What increases one’s sadness is that they are disbelievers known for their enmity toward the Muslims, and for harming the Muslims in their lands, indeed fighting and killing them. They take from these workers wages in money, which they use to help fight our Muslim brothers in their lands. This is a matter that the government must first be alert to. There are many Muslim workers in the Islamic lands; Pakistan is full of Muslims, Indonesia is full of Muslims, and so are some African countries, but unfortunately, we are heedless of this.

Then we heard from some of the foolish that he says: They choose a non-Muslim so that the work does not stop when he goes to prayer, or fasts in Ramadan, or seeks to perform the lesser pilgrimage, or seeks to perform the major pilgrimage, or similar things. There is no doubt that the one who follows this approach is in great danger, and that his approach necessitates his hatred of Islam. Otherwise, the true believing Muslim rejoices in the increase of Muslims and the increase of those who perform the rites of Islam.
And the important thing is that I agree with you that this phenomenon is very, very dangerous. And it is obligatory for us to advise our brothers and say: You have Muslims; go to them. They have, praise be to Allah, a great deal of capability. Then, these disbelievers who come, some of them come to do work that anyone can do; you find him coming as a servant, or as a cleaner of markets in the municipalities, or similar. This is something everyone can do. This is not a specialty that only disbelievers know, such that you would say: “We are excused if we bring them.” Therefore, we advise our Muslim brothers to fear Allah the Exalted and Majestic, and to be careful to bring only Muslims, whether as a servant in the house or outside the house. The one connected to the house is more severe and more severe. If a non-Muslim is brought in, it is obligatory for us to advise one another and say:
The believers are but brothersإِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ
[Al-Hujurat: 10] So bring your believing brothers, and leave these people.
