The Shaykh’s statement that affiliation with the righteous predecessors is a necessity for every Muslim

The Shaykh : What I wish to speak about in this blessed hour, if Allah wills, is that this affiliation—affiliation with the righteous predecessors—in my opinion, no Muslim who is aware of the true meaning of the term "the righteous predecessors" can disavow it. No Muslim can disavow affiliation with this lineage, regardless of his identity or his partisanship. This is because the righteous predecessors, as you know, are the three generations attested to as the best in the famous, established hadiths from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), where he said: On this occasion, I remind those who walk, as it is said, of the narration of the hadith with the wording: "The best of generations" has no basis. The established wording in the two Sahihs and elsewhere is: instead of "The best of generations" Sahih al-Bukhari 3651 These three generations to which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) attested their excellence, the first of which was the one in which the Messenger (may Allah’s prayer and peace be upon him) and his noble Companions were, and they are the best of people. Then those who follow them, who followed them with excellence, and then the followers of those, the followers of the followers. These three generations attested to as the best are our righteous predecessors. We should be aware of an important point associated with these righteous predecessors, which is their infallibility from agreeing upon misguidance. This is because of the famous hadith, which is the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): The first thing in which this authentic hadith is established and realized is the first generation, the second generation, and the third generation. These generations are the best of people, as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) explicitly stated.
