The Nineteenth Benefit: The Prescribed Seeking of Blessing from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and His Traces.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Eid Abbasi : The Nineteenth Benefit:
It concerns the prescribed seeking of blessing from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his traces, such as Umm Sulaym seeking the good of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) being the one to put the bridle on her child, and that his saliva be the first thing to enter his stomach. This is permissible, but it is specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
So no one among the people, or a shaykh among the shaykhs, or a shaykh of a path, or a scholar, no matter who he is, should come and say: "By Allah, seek blessing from my traces." Some of the shaykhs of the Sufi paths, when they give a seeker a path, spit in his mouth, spitting in his mouth that he has taken the path and sought blessing in it.
All of this is among the things that are reprehensible and not permissible in Islam. So seeking blessing from some traces is specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And with that, we know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who allowed his Companions to do that for a time, then turned them away from it and made them dislike it. It was reported in the hadith that he performed ablution once, and some of his Companions began to rub themselves with his water of ablution. He said:
What compels you to do that? ما يحملكم على ذلك ؟
. They said: "The love of Allah and His Messenger." He said:
Whoever loves Allah and His Messenger, let him be truthful when he speaks, and let him fulfill his trust when he is entrusted - I think: and let him keep his promise when he promises - مَن كان يحبُّ الله ورسوله فليصدِّق إذا أحبَّ ، وليؤدِّ أمانته إذا اؤتُمِنَ - أظن : وليَفِ إذا وعد -
or as he said (peace and blessings be upon him). This clarifies that even seeking blessing from some of the traces of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is, meaning, disliked... The matter of the Shari'ah settled on that. We do not say: forbidden, but as you see
What compels you to do that? ما يحملكم على ذلك ؟
. The love of Allah and His Messenger. Yes, if you love Allah and His Messenger, turn to the true things that are of the essence of Islam; let one of you be truthful in his speech when he speaks, and let him fulfill his trust when he is entrusted, and the like of that.
So where are those who spread the seeking of blessing from the traces of the shaykhs and the righteous among them, the so-called ones, and among them are those who rub themselves with their traces? One says to the other: "Throw yourself on the shaykh's hand and kiss it, taste it, and be blessed, and so on." What... and they race to that, racing as if... not like this. And the shaykhs approve of that and are pleased. And there is no doubt that Satan blows into them and lures them on from where they do not know. And to Allah we belong and to Him we return.

The questioner : ... the Messenger.

Eid Abbasi: Yes.

The questioner : (peace and blessings be upon him).

Eid Abbasi : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

Eid Abbasi: No, it is what happened that it was not taken and not drunk by his opinion. 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr did that. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) bled, the blood was in a vessel, in a container. He said to him:
Go and hide it اذهب فغيِّبْه
; meaning go put it in a place, meaning or bury it... He was a young man, he said: "Hide it..." So he drank it. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of that, I remember he said, but now I do not remember... the phrase he said:
Woe to you from the people, and woe to the people from you ويلٌ لك من الناس ، وويلٌ للناس منك
; from 'Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, and this saying was verified, meaning he stood up for...

The questioner: ... the blood, meaning.

Eid Abbasi: He is, from one side, meaning correct, he got from the blood of the Messenger (peace be upon him), but trials happened in his time, and he, meaning, prayed for himself for the caliphate and was pledged allegiance, and he almost became the caliph over all the Muslims, were it not for events that occurred which are not our concern now. So battles happened between him and the Umayyads, and finally he was killed and crucified. Yes - (may Allah be pleased with him).

The questioner : ... .

Eid Abbasi: All right, we have two benefits left, we will read them to the one walking and then stand up for the prayer.

The questioner : ... .
