The Shaykh : Is the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) distinct from His creation? And what is the evidence for this from the Book and the Sunnah?
All the verses affirming the Highness, the descent, the coming, and the like are all evidence that the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) is not mixed with His creations; because we know with certainty and self-evidence:. So when Allah was, there was no creation. And when He created the creation, He did not tell us that He dwelt in His creation, as the extremists of the Sufis say: "Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is with His creation like water in ice, or like butter in milk, and it is not possible to separate them." Far is Allah from what the wrongdoers say, in great exaltation.
What is the meaning of His descent? What is the meaning of His coming? What is the meaning of His rising above the Throne, if He is mixed and mingled with His creations, among which is the sacred, among which is the lowly, among which are filthy places, and among which are places that a person does not enter except out of necessity, even a disbeliever? So how do we place Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in these filthy places, claiming that He is in the creations like ice with water, or like butter with milk?

Therefore, we always say, forever and ever: It is not enough for us to claim that we take the Shari'ah from the Book and the Sunnah; because all people, even the extremists of the Sufis, even those who say in the oneness of existence, say: We are upon the Book and the Sunnah. It is not enough for us to claim that we hold fast to the Book and the Sunnah; for every sect, however deeply rooted in misguidance, this is their claim. Therefore, we distinguish ourselves from them by saying: We are upon the Book and the Sunnah, and upon what the righteous Salaf were upon in their understanding of the Book and the Sunnah.
We do not want new concepts, and the new concepts are not those that occur in this age, but rather those that occurred after the three centuries; all of these are new concepts, and we give them no weight. So we always...
