Does the Lord - (Mighty and Majestic) - draw near to some of His creation with His Self and His attributes? And what is the evidence for this from the Book and the Sunnah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The second question: Does the Lord - (Mighty and Majestic) - draw near to some of His creation with His Self and His attributes? And what is the evidence for this from the Book and the Sunnah?
The nearness of Allah - (Mighty and Majestic) - is of two types, as Ibn Taymiyyah - (may Allah have mercy on him) - explained: nearness with His Self and His attributes regarding the chosen best of His servants, and general nearness, which is regarding all created things. His nearness to the chosen among the best is nearness of the Self, naturally, and with the attributes; because the attributes are not separated from the Self. And the nearness of Allah - (Mighty and Majestic) - to those who believe in Him is a nearness of the Self, just as His descent - (Blessed and Exalted is He) - in the last third of the night to converse with His servants to question them:
Is there anyone calling upon Me that I should respond to him? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness that I should forgive him? Is there anyone asking that I should give to him? !
; so this nearness is like this descent, both are a true nearness, and Allah knows best the reality of that; because we cannot do anything but believe in the Shari'ah realities without asking how an attribute is and without likening Allah to creation, and on the other hand without denial of the divine attributes and without figurative interpretation, as is the requirement of His saying - the Exalted - :
There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
[Ash-Shuraa 42:11]
.
The third question: Is the Lord - (Mighty and Majestic) - separate from His creation? And what is the evidence for this from the Book and the Sunnah?
Yes?

The questioner : Regarding the first question.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : He said that there is no evidence in the Book and the Sunnah that He draws near with His Self and His attributes to some of His creation.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : ... what is the evidence, I mean, from the Book and the Sunnah? He said: among some of the Salaf, well, who, to which evidence ... what is their evidence?

The Shaykh : The evidence is many hadiths, among them the hadith:
If he draws near to Me a hand's breadth, I draw near to him an arm's length, and if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a span
. An arm's length ... an arm's length, a span.
The questioner : Yes, I do.

The questioner :
If he comes to Me walking, I come to him running
.

The Shaykh : Running, many hadiths in this regard, and perhaps you know them.

The questioner : Yes, but - Professor - regarding His saying - the Exalted - :
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me
[Al-Baqarah 2:186]
.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : Is nearness also derived from this?

The Shaykh
Then I am near
He said it Himself.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes, but I mean.

The questioner : I mean this is a special nearness.

The Shaykh : The hadiths we mentioned are explicit on the subject, as is always the case in the relationship of hadiths with the Qur'an in terms of clarification,
Then I am near
I mean the Divine Self, why did I compare this subject with the subject of the descent of the Divine?
Your Lord descends every night
,
Your Lord descends
with His Self, He rose above the Throne with His Self; because He is speaking about the Self, so we cannot interpret figuratively, otherwise we would be afflicted with what the interpreters themselves were afflicted with.
