And something else, and more important: the verse has a continuation: and on their sides, and they reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth. Their whole lives, they do not think; their thought is only focused on their dhikr.

So, they have turned away from acting upon the verse from its beginning to its end, because part of its completion is [Ali 'Imran 3:191] Therefore, it came in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he would stand up at night, would raise his head to the sky and recite this verse — this is from the Sunnah — [Ali 'Imran 3:190-191]
...O generation of innovation, what a bad generation! You have brought an impossible evil.
