Is it permissible for a son to give his zakah to his poor father? And is the reverse permissible? And does the hadith (You and your wealth belong to your father) prevent that?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Our teacher, is it permissible to give zakah to the father from the son? If the father is poor? And is it permissible from the son to the father? And does the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)
You and your wealth belong to your father أنت ومالك لأبيك
prevent that?

The Shaykh : I will answer you.

The questioner : Yes, my Shaykh.

The Shaykh : If both the father and the son are living on their own, and no one is providing for the other due to a lack of income for each of them, and then wealth comes to one of them and he wants to give zakah, then in this case it is permissible for the descendant to give to the ancestor, and for the ancestor to give to the descendant. But here a point arises: if we imagine a situation other than this one, I imagined a situation where the father and son are poor, and then wealth and richness come to one of them. But if one of them is rich and the other is poor, the rich one is obligated to provide for the poor one. In this case, it is not permissible for him to give him zakah; because zakah and maintenance do not combine. So instead of giving him zakah, he gives him maintenance. Did you understand me?

The questioner : Yes, my teacher.

The Shaykh : Okay, otherwise.
Abu Layla : May Allah reward you with good.
