What is the ruling on the sitting of tawarruk, when is it performed, and does it apply to both women and men?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on the sitting of tawarruk? When is it performed? And does it apply to both women and men?

The Shaykh : The sitting of tawarruk is a recommended practice (sunnah) in the final sitting for the testimony of faith (tashahhud) in every prayer that has two sittings for the testimony of faith, such as the Maghrib, Isha, Zuhr, and Asr prayers. As for the prayer that has only one sitting for the testimony of faith, there is no tawarruk in it; rather, one sits in the style of iftirash.
This is regarding the ruling of tawarruk. As for it being for men and women, yes, it is established for men and it is established for women, because the original principle is that women and men are equal in the rulings of the Shari'ah unless there is evidence. There is no sound evidence indicating that a woman differs from a man in the postures of prayer; rather, she and the man are on the same level.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
