The passionate youth sometimes employ partisan methods in da'wah.

Al-Halabi : In a matter with which we may perhaps conclude this session, given the time, many young people have energy; that is, they want to call to Islam and love working for Islam. But because of the environment, they do not find a correct, lawful way to channel this energy. So you see them resorting to some organizations and parties, as our brother mentioned—may Allah reward him with good—to channel this energy. They say, "I do not want to sit idle; I want to work, I want to move, I want to do this and that." Sometimes they even go to some people they know are not qualified, giving them their trust and obedience, or something of that sort. So I do not know; does this love of working for Islam permit them to contradict the Shari'ah, or to do something that, deep down, they themselves are not pleased with, under the claim that they want to work for Islam and call to Islam?

The Shaykh : Of course, the answer is no. It is not permissible for him, as long as he is convinced that it does not give him what he seeks. But in my opinion, there is a deviation now among the youth, a fundamental deviation. That is, they say, "I want to work for Islam."
Al-Halabi : Allahu Akbar.

The Shaykh : So they imagine that working for Islam is not done except in this manner.
Al-Halabi : Oh, my goodness.

The Shaykh : Whereas, whereas, if they devoted themselves to the worship of Allah, being like the doves of the mosque, this is for Allah the Exalted and Majestic. This direction toward devoting oneself to the worship of Allah is today a matter that is not mentioned in terms of action. So you find all the youth attacking what? Collective social work. But as for one who withdraws into himself to worship his Lord and keeps away from all these trials and problems, this does not cross the mind of any of the youth. If this field were opened, they would fill that void. If they do not find what occupies them in accordance with the Shari'ah, as you pointed out, they have narrowed the circle of working for Islam, so the paths have become narrow for them. And they say to you, "We are compelled to work, even with foreigners, whom we see have deviated, even if only slightly." This is the reason.
Al-Halabi : You even see them criticizing those who devote themselves, as you mentioned, to worship, or something like that. They say, "He is in his library day and night, in his four rooms, and he does not know reality; he is ignorant."

The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, upon them.
Al-Halabi : Glory be to Allah. May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : And beware

The Shaykh: Yes.
