What is the position of the youth when fatwas differ among the shaykhs?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner asks and says: We are witnessing in these days, and praise be to Allah, a fine scholarly renaissance, especially among the rising Muslim youth. This renaissance faces several problems, the most important of which is the disagreement among scholars in issuing fatwas, which leads to confusion and disturbance in some people. So what is the position of the Muslim youth regarding this? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : This question is undoubtedly of the hour, and we have heard it repeatedly in our previous journey. This problem, in reality, applies to the youth who have not established the correct scientific methodology in themselves, meaning what came from some of the Salaf, such as Ibn Abbas and those who followed him among the imams, like Mujahid and Malik, and others: "No one is to be taken from his statement and rejected except the one of this grave," and he pointed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is a reality that our Muslim youth must keep in mind. The student : Regarding the correct knowledge, which is nothing but what Allah said and what the Messenger of Allah said, and upon the methodology of the righteous Salaf, which we have emphasized repeatedly. He should also keep in mind another reality, a Quranic reality, for Allah Blessed and Exalted said:
(118) And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ. (119) Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together." ولو شاء ربك لجعل الناس أمة واحدة ولا يزالون مختلفين إلا من رحم ربك ولذلك خلقهم
[Hud 11:118-119]
. So there is no escape from disagreement and no salvation from it; this is the Sunnah of Allah Mighty and Majestic in His creation.
and you will not find in the way of Allah any change. ولن تجد لسنة الله تبديلا
[Al-Ahzab 33:62]
But some disagreement is one for which people are excused, and some is one for which they are not excused. They are excused for the disagreement that is inevitable, which is what the aforementioned verse indicated.
And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community ولو شاء ربك لجعل الناس أمة واحدة
[Hud 11:118]
If that had been the case, the people most deserving of that would have been the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who are the best of people, as that came explicitly in the well-known mass-transmitted hadith. But Allah Mighty and Majestic willed, for a profound wisdom that some may understand and most people may not, and that does not harm us. So disagreement is a natural matter, as we mentioned. As for disagreement and quarreling due to misunderstanding of the same issue, this is what is prohibited, this is what is forbidden, and this is what the Salaf were saved from and the Khalaf fell into. If the youth keep this reality in mind, they should not be surprised by the disagreement of some scholars, especially if they are included in the same methodology, which is the true methodology of the Book and the Sunnah and what the righteous Salaf were upon. They should not find it strange or be surprised by it, because it is the Sunnah of Allah Mighty and Majestic in His creation. And if they want salvation from it, they must follow the path of the people of knowledge, which is stated in the Noble Quran:
Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful." قل هاتوا برهانكم إن كنتم صادقين
[Al-Baqarah 2:111]
If two contradictory statements or more come to a student of knowledge from two distinguished scholars, and it is presumed that they are equal in knowledge and virtue, he may be confused, and it may be right for him to be confused at first glance. But it is not permissible for him to remain in that state, because he has to ask for the evidence, to request the evidence from each of the two scholars, whether the conversation is with them directly or through correspondence or telephone or any of the means that are easy today. After he hears the evidence of each of them, he is not obligated to prefer Zayd over 'Amr or 'Amr over Zayd, but he follows the one who has the evidence that his soul is reassured by and his chest is opened to. ... And perhaps this, with which the answer ends, is from the meanings of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Consult your heart, even if the muftis have given you a ruling استفت قلبك وإن أفتاك المفتون
Two statements have come to you from two great scholars. You consult your heart after you clarify the evidence. Whichever one your heart leans toward, if you take it, you are excused before Allah Blessed and Exalted. As for being biased toward one of them over the other, this is the path of the imitators, from which Allah Mighty and Majestic has saved us and taken us out of their path to the path of the straight road, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

The Shaykh : He passed the first miqat and then came to the second. This one has its path and this one has its path, so whichever of the two paths he took, he is obligated to enter ihram from the miqat on that path.

The questioner : If you could explain the issue he mentioned? The Shaykh : Islam mentioned an issue specifically regarding Dhul-Hulayfah, saying that whoever passes through Madinah, it is prescribed for him to enter ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah, even if he is not from the people of Madinah...?

The Shaykh : It is not important, yes.

The questioner : He said that if he passes it, the scholars have two opinions on the issue, and the stronger opinion is that it is permissible. So what is your opinion, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : We adopted the opinion that you heard.

The questioner : We wanted to make sure of that. May Allah preserve you.
