What is the ruling on one who enters the state of ihram on the Day of 'Arafah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Could you have entered the state of ihram before? Or were you unable to?

The questioner : I was in a hurry and was not able to manage it.

The Shaykh : If it is as you say, then enter the state of ihram from now.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. May Allah accept it from you.

The questioner : The hadith that Allah takes pride in the people of 'Arafah to the people of the heavens, saying:
Look at My servants, they have come to Me disheveled and covered in dust. انظروا إلى عبادي ، جاؤوني شعثاً غبراً
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 4:466
And in a second narration:
There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels ما من يوم أكثر من أن يعتق الله فيه عبدٍ من النار يوم عرفة ، وأنه ليبدو ثم يباهي بهم الملائكة
Sahih Muslim 1348
He says, "What do these people want?"

The Shaykh: Good.
