What is your opinion of the hadith (What is between my grave and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise . . )

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The statement of some people that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The grave is but a garden from the gardens of Paradise, or a pit from the pits of the Fire. إن قبره روضة من رياض الجنة أو حفرة من حفر النار
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2460Da'if (Darussalam)
, what is your opinion of this, or as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said?

The Shaykh : The authentic hadith does not contain the word "grave" but rather "house," and his statement (peace be upon him):
The area between my house and my Minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise. ما بين بيتي ومنبري روضة من رياض الجنة
Sunan an-Nasa'i 695Sahih (Darussalam)
between my house and my pulpit, is not between my grave and my pulpit; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first did not do what some people do today who are overly strict, where they build a grave before their death, and perhaps they place it in a mosque they built and claim it is for Allah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not designate a place for his grave during his lifetime so that people would understand from him when he said to them, "between my grave and my pulpit." If he had said it that way, someone would ask: Where is your grave, O Messenger of Allah? But he said: between my house, is that clear?

The questioner : Our Shaykh, what is the response to those who say the grave is a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of the Fire, and they attribute that to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or say for example the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said such and such?

The Shaykh : I heard the response, may Allah bless you. The wording of the hadith is:
The area between my house and my Minbar ما بين بيتي ومنبري
Sunan an-Nasa'i 695Sahih (Darussalam)
But there is another hadith:
The grave is but a garden from the gardens of Paradise, or a pit from the pits of the Fire. القبر روضة من رياض الجنة أو حفرة من حفر النار
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2460Da'if (Darussalam)
In this wording, its chain of narration is not authentic, but the hadiths that came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the comfort of the grave and its punishment confirm the meaning of this hadith whose chain is weak.

The questioner : Okay, our Shaykh, can we say such a statement, what is the Prophet's statement in his own wording which is:
The grave is but a garden from the gardens of Paradise, or a pit from the pits of the Fire. القبر روضة من رياض الجنة أو حفرة من حفر النار
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2460Da'if (Darussalam)
, but like the hadith of al-Bara' ibn 'Azib where a door is opened for him ... .

The Shaykh : This is a long hadith.

The questioner : Can we, our Shaykh, this confirms the meaning ... .

The Shaykh : I tell you, in hadiths that confirm the meaning of this hadith
The grave is but a garden from the gardens of Paradise, or a pit from the pits of the Fire. القبر روضة من رياض الجنة أو حفرة من حفر النار
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2460Da'if (Darussalam)
but do not say the Messenger of Allah said such and such.

The questioner : It is permissible to say it, but do not attribute it to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : We say this statement is not from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh : It was narrated from the Messenger, but its chain of narration is not authentic, but its meaning is authentic. Welcome, in the safety of Allah ... Yes, may Allah reward you with good, thank you, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : I am sitting with you now for a few minutes, until our guest arrives so we can go to the slaughter, if Allah wills, with the gifts that are made available to us, so bring your questions before we miss you.
