Can these facts be published?

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The truth is, we began a modest effort during our stay in Pakistan. First, we analyzed Khomeini’s will and published it under the title *Readings on Khomeini’s Will*.

The Shaykh : Very good.

The questioner : It was published in one of the magazines, but I think there was no opportunity for a large number of people to read it. The second matter concerns our relations with the organizations and the mujahideen. We focus intensely on this issue, especially because what makes the situation certain is that their distribution within Afghanistan is not natural. It appears there is a directive for them regarding which areas to occupy; you find them always holding the bottleneck, the critical area. In this region, you find it in the hands of the Hazara. Right now, there is a fierce war in the province of Jowzjan in northern Afghanistan between the mujahideen and the Shi'ah. It is a fierce war, and naturally, some intermediaries have intervened. This started with inciting the spirit of tribalism among the Shi'ah, and secondly, with the tricks played by the Russians. The second point is that the organizations and their leadership—and I specifically mean Professor Sayyaf and Professor Hakim Yar, because these are among those who are angry with them inside Iran—once the former head of state, whose name I have forgotten now, met with Hakim Yar and said to him, "We are concerned about the future of the Shi'ah inside Afghanistan. If you establish the Islamic government, what is your vision for the future of the Shi'ah inside Afghanistan?" Hakim Yar said to him, "By Allah, it is simple, like the status of the people of the Sunnah and the community with you in Iran." As a result of this answer, they closed all of Hakim Yar’s offices and forced them to leave Iran. So, the truth is, the leadership is aware of this matter. But I do not know, despite talking to them frequently, and believe me, my dear Shaykh, that in my own heart I see sincerity, not flattery, that it is obligatory to fight these people and eliminate them completely. Even if we made a temporary truce with the communists and then... the great danger that will come, because the communist system is heads and stands on a structure of the ignorant, and this structure is very easy to collapse under the communist system, but their system is based on a hateful creed.

The Shaykh : There is no power and no strength except with Allah.

The questioner : They have depth now; the state of Iran. So, the truth is, regarding its publication, I agree with this, but the matter requires, if Allah wills, that we have information and evidence that I left at my workplace, and this needs to be gathered and organized so that it is something useful and documented when it comes out. The matter I want to mention for you to see the extent of their infiltration, even inside Pakistan, is that there are friends of ours who work in the media. One of them wrote a book about the Shi'ah, and as a result, as a punishment for him—he was my top candidate—his house was burned and all his papers were torn up. They took advantage of his absence and burned his house. Another person also published a series in one of the magazines about the Shi'ah inside Afghanistan, and we clarify indirectly, because inside the Pakistani security agencies there are also Shi'ah personalities. And the matter is like you are in a minefield; the matter is dangerous. And with this, threats would come, and they would even pursue these cases inside Pakistan, which is an indication that there is a direction there, a direction that guides them to what they do, and Allah knows best.
