The questioner : Regarding the hadith about the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), I do not remember the exact text, but its meaning is that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has forbidden the Fire for the eye that wept out of fear of Allah. So, does this weeping have a specific limit? For example, does one have to weep every day when reading the Qur'an, or every time one reads, or every so often? Is this weeping limited, or how is the situation?

The Shaykh : No, it is not limited. The intention is that the one who weeps does so not for showing off or for reputation, but out of fear of Allah. Even if it is only once, he is thereby deserving to be among the people of Paradise. However, this does not mean that if he abandons this fear by committing some sins afterwards, he will be safe from being held accountable for them. If he follows it with another fear, and so on, it continues in that manner.
