What is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart…”?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : No, it is not like that, but the verse.
Another questioner:
And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.
[Al-Anfal: 24].

The questioner : I said that Allah knows what you tell yourselves and that He will hold you accountable for both the apparent and the hidden, that is what I said.

The questioner : … the verse, you understand its meaning.

The questioner : I understand that Allah.
Another questioner: ...

The questioner : That Allah knows what is in the hearts of people.
Al-Id Abbas: This is a terrible error.
[Al-Anfal 8:24]
What does “intervenes” mean? “Intervenes.” I stand as a barrier between you and me, a barrier between you and me, what does that mean? It means preventing.

The questioner : ... .
Al-Id Abbas: Yes, what does it mean that He holds accountable and reveals? Where did you get that from? “Intervenes” does not mean He holds accountable and reveals; this is a terrible error.
And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart
[Al-Anfal 8:24]
It means, O person, hasten to obedience and to complying with the command of Allah before you die, so that there is a barrier. Allah will prevent you between you and … and your heart.

The questioner : No, there is another meaning in this.
Al-Id Abbas: The meaning of death, that is.

The questioner : O Professor … .
Al-Id Abbas: Please, go ahead.

The questioner : ... .
Al-Id Abbas: So?

The questioner : That Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) commands us to walk upon this blessed call. If life is written for us, and even if we are weak, but by the blessing of our uprightness and our response to the command of Allah, Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) is able, by His might, power, and greatness, to turn our weakness into strength and the strength of our enemy into weakness. Did you not know that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), when he intended to kill Muhammad, at the moment he wanted to kill Muhammad, Allah intervened between him and his heart, so He turned his heart from a heart full of hatred and determined to kill him, into a heart full of love and determined to defend the religion of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
So, Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) is able to make, as we said, our weakness into strength and the strength of our enemy into weakness. And this is what our Lord mentioned in Surat al-Mumtahanah when our Lord (Blessed and Exalted is He) said:
There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.
[Al-Mumtahanah: 4].
