What is the ruling on visiting a Christian patient and following his funeral?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding visiting a Christian patient, or a neighbor who has given him a sermon, for example, or invited him to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with kind words, and this man has passed away, what is the ruling on attending this funeral?

The Shaykh : No.

The questioner : It is not permissible.
Another questioner: It is not permissible ... to attend the funeral of a Christian.

The Shaykh : Never; it contains shirk (associating partners with Allah) and misguidance. As for visiting him, if it is taken as a means to explain something of Islam to him or to encourage him in Islam, then it is permissible.
