Some imams cry during the prayer to the point that some of the worshippers are disturbed in their prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: Some imams cry during the Fajr prayer.

The Shaykh: They cry?

The questioner: Yes, the imam cries.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: ... he recites.

The Shaykh: Does he cry, or is he feigning tears?

The questioner: He cries.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: Sometimes he stops the recitation, and sometimes he stops the tasbih; as a result, there is a commotion among the worshippers after the prayer; what is your opinion?

The Shaykh: By Allah, what is my opinion if he is crying out of humility? May Allah reward him with good.

The questioner: Out of humility.

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner: It is out of humility... I pray behind him and he is truly crying out of humility in the Fajr prayer.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner: No, the truth is that it is out of humility.

The Shaykh: That is what we lack today from many reciters and imams. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he recited the Qur'an and when he stood to pray, the narrator said: = -- and upon you be the peace of Allah and His mercy and His blessings -- = he had a humming sound like the humming of a cauldron (peace and blessings be upon him). He would cry, and his voice had a humming sound like the humming of a cauldron... So if this imam is crying out of humility, that is what we need. But if he is doing it, may Allah forbid it, out of showing off, then that is a great problem; that is why I asked: does he cry, or is he feigning tears? If he is crying, then may it be a blessing for him.

The questioner: So he is crying.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.
Fine.
