How do we respond to the group of hijrah and takfir who declare people disbelievers for committing a major sin?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : We have mentioned to some individuals of the takfir group that those who commit major sins may be forgiven, or they may enter the Fire for a specific period and then leave it, without remaining in it eternally. They said that these people repented in this world, but their repentance does not completely purify them from their sins, just as... They cited a hadith whose meaning is that among the people are some whom Allah the Exalted reminds of their sins on the Day of Resurrection, and they say, "My Lord, I have repented, I have repented." What is the extent of the authenticity of this statement and this hadith?

The Shaykh : As for the hadith with this wording, I do not know it. And you, as a student of knowledge, must know how to handle such matters. When one of these people who call themselves the group of hijrah and takfir brings up a hadith... instead of waiting for an opportunity to gather with the Shaykh you are afflicted with, who is Al-Albani, and asking him, "What is this hadith?" You should directly address the question to him. Say to him, "Where did you get this hadith from? Is it an authentic hadith, and who narrated it in this form?" We put a stop to these people arguing with whatever they please. Then we will be relieved of the burden. I swear by Allah, I did not know this hadith and had not heard of it until this moment. Perhaps this hadith is important to them, and they may find it in a book that says, for example, "Al-Bazzar narrated it." In that case, I would immediately check Al-Bazzar's book. But now, if I want to check, what do I need to check? I would have to review hundreds of books to find it or not find it. As for the interpretation you mentioned earlier, this is evidence that the group is evolving. Where did it come from that this person repented, but his repentance was not sincere? And the one who repented and his repentance was sincere, is he a sinner or not? He is a sinner. Then, are these people forgiven or not? Then, stick to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills إن الله لا يغفر أن يشرك به و يغفر ما دون ذلك لمن يشاء
[An-Nisa 4:48]
Because this verse is, in reality, the backbone-breaker for these ignorant people. The text is comprehensive and exclusive, as the scholars say. It does not forgive that anyone associate partners with Him, and He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. "He forgives what is less than that" means He forgives what is not shirk. What are major sins? These are not major sins; this is a foreign philosophy in Islam. Those Khawarij who rebelled against the Commander of the Faithful and made rebellion against all the Caliphs who came after him their doctrine—what is your question?
