Advice from Shaykh Al-Albani to one who wishes to take a second wife.

The Shaykh : That he not startle her with it, but rather prepare the ground and first plant in her mind and understanding the permissibility of this ruling in Islam, without any condition or restriction other than what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) mentioned in the Noble Qur'an, which is justice.
And that he should circle around this issue until the idea becomes clear and distinct to her; this is from the intellectual side. As for the practical side, what concerns us is that we do not startle people practically with an issue that has not previously reached their ears intellectually, as we mentioned earlier. Because this is truly a very sensitive issue, and we know from experience and reality, from many people, that even if you take precautions, be cautious, plant the seed, and remind her, you will still find opposition. Why? Because a time has passed for the Muslims, and especially in this time, where they have been invaded in their very homes with ideas that have nothing to do with Islam, among which is the idea that a second marriage is not prescribed except out of necessity.
