What is the validity of the claim that there is no way to reform except through Islamic groups?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding Islamic groups, some people think that these groups are the only way for Islam to return to what it was in the best of generations. What is the ruling on this?

The Shaykh : I did not understand the question?

The questioner : Some people think that Islamic groups are the only way for Islam to return?

The Shaykh : Islamic groups, followers of Egypt.

The questioner : Yes, the Tabligh groups, the Muslim Brotherhood, all these groups.

The Shaykh : Do you take this answer from the previous lecture? Is there purification and education?

Another questioner : They gather numbers, but there is no creed or anything?

The Shaykh : My brother, may Allah guide you. In purification and education, the answer is no.
The Shaykh : As Sa'd said, and Sa'd was wearing a cloak: "This is not, O Sa'd, how you drive the camels." And they will never reach the goal. It is not possible except with very slow progress and great caution. The important thing for the Muslim is to walk on the straight path. This research reminds me of a very important hadith. Many Islamic groups see that the Salafi call is the call of truth, without doubt or hesitation, but they say this is a long goal and when will you reach the desired objective? Therefore, they seek to shorten the path. I say that among the miracles of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)—I do not want to say now that they are scientific, they are scientific, but I want to say this phrase is perhaps very rare, one we do not use often, regarding the scientific and artistic miracles of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Have you ever heard this expression? Do not listen now. In a hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud or others from the Companions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), it is said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) drew for us a straight line, then drew short lines around the straight line. This is art, this is drawing. And he recited the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way وأن هذا صراطي مستقيما فاتبعوه ولا تتبع سبل فتفرق بكم عن سبيله
[Al-An'am 6:153]
Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) explained the verse:
This is the path of Allah. هذا صراط الله
This long straight line is the path of Allah, meaning this is the only path leading to Paradise. If we want to use a Sufi path leading to Allah, to the pleasure of Allah, this is the straight line leading to Paradise. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And these are the short paths. وهذه الطرق القصيرة
Around the straight line, he said:
And at the head of each of these paths is a devil calling people to it. وعلى رأس كل طريق منها شيطان يدعو الناس إليه
These are the devils standing at the head of the short line, saying to those walking on the straight line: Where are you going? This path is long. Look at this path, this leads you to the goal by the shortest path and the easiest way. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
These are the paths of Satan. هذه طرق الشيطان
I find that these paths are those that contradict the path of the righteous Salaf. So count as many parties and groups as you wish, as long as they do not follow purification and education, they will never succeed, because they have deviated from the straight line. And whatever is in the short line, whatever moves away from the straight path, this is an example struck for us by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) so that we may be upon clear proof.
