What is the ruling on qunut in the Fajr prayer and persisting in it, and does the ma'mum follow the imam?

The questioner : We have an imam of the mosque who performs qunut in most of his Fajr prayers, not every time. Should we perform qunut with him, or what should we do with him?

The Shaykh : You should discuss it with him to explain to him that this qunut has no basis in the Sunnah. If he is convinced and returns to the norm, he should follow the people and not be followed. But if he is not convinced, he should be followed. Is that clear? Please proceed.
