Explaining that whoever knows the characteristics of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) knows whether he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream.

The Shaykh : Regarding the characteristics of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), we read in Sahih al-Bukhari and other sources from Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was not white-haired. So how can one describe the person seen in a dream as having a white beard, even if he adds that it is light? It is not permissible to describe the Messenger (peace be upon him) as having gray hair, for that would be lying about him (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). This lie falls under the general meaning of his statement (peace and blessings be upon him) Sunan Abi Dawud 3651Sahih (Al-Albani) and in the other wording Musnad Ahmad 469Hasan (Darussalam). Although the apparent meaning of this hadith is attributing words to him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he did not say, there is no doubt that it also includes attributing to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) characteristics and descriptions that he did not possess. This includes describing him (peace be upon him) as having a white beard with much gray hair in it. This is a lie, as I mentioned earlier regarding the hadith of Anas. In another narration from him, it is stated that the white hairs did not exceed twenty in his beard. Therefore, the dreamer who says, "I saw him with a white beard," and so on, indicates that he did not see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), because he (peace and blessings be upon him) said Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2276Sahih (Darussalam) "Whoever sees me," meaning with my characteristics and my Muhammadan traits, not in an image that does not match what I was like in my life. For this reason, the Imam of those who interpret dreams, the noble Companion Muhammad ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him), who was a frequent narrator from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), was famous for his accuracy in interpreting dreams. When a person would come to him claiming to have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in a dream, he would ask him how he saw him. If he described him with traits that the Messenger (peace be upon him) did not possess in his life, he would say, "You did not see the Messenger, but that was Satan who made it seem to you that it was the Messenger." The Messenger said, "Whoever sees me," meaning in my true reality. This reminds us of another hadith related to another important issue: whether the call, i.e., the call of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), has reached a people or a group if it reached them distorted from the truth of the Islamic call? Has the call reached them in this state, and has the argument been established against them? Or are they among those whom scholars call the people of the period of ignorance (ahl al-fatra), to whom the statement of our Lord in the Qur'an applies: [Al-Isra 17:15]?
The answer is in a hadith similar to this one from the side of that hadith. It is what Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Here is the point: "Hears of me," just as he said, "Whoever sees me" . His statement (peace and blessings be upon him) in this hadith, "Hears of me," means in his true reality and in the true reality of what he brought of the call to Islam. If that man, whether Jewish or Christian, did not hear of him (peace be upon him) in his true reality, the call did not reach him because it reached him distorted. If he believed in this distorted call, he did not believe in him (peace be upon him). From this, we understand two regrettable facts. The first fact is that the Christians, especially in the West and America, when the missionaries—who are called by a name other than their true name, for they are in clear error—describe our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to their people with traits contrary to the purity and perfection of the Messenger's (peace be upon him) character, as he said Sunan al-Bayhaqi 18:249. When these missionaries describe our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to their people with these traits, and the result is that they did not believe in him (peace be upon him), the call did not reach them because they described him to them as having an overwhelming desire. The evidence is that Muslims say that he (peace be upon him) forbade his community from having more than four wives, while he married and gathered nine women at one time. So these lying, fraudulent missionaries say that the Prophet permitted it for himself due to the dominance of desire over him, which he forbade for his community. When Christians hear such false descriptions, the result is that they do not believe, because the Messenger was described to them other than in his true reality. This is the first regrettable issue. The other issue is the opposite of this, but it is also regrettable. There is a group of Muslims who claim to belong to Islam, who testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, who pray, perform Hajj, give zakah, and fast, but they hold false beliefs that contradict the Islamic Shari'ah in many of its beliefs known from the religion by necessity. These are the people known to most Muslims as the Qadiyans, who call themselves the Ahmadis. They have misguided beliefs deviating from Islam, including their belief that the door of prophethood after him (peace be upon him) was not closed, but is open until the Day of Resurrection, and that one of them came, whom they followed and were deceived by, and because of whom they strayed far, very far, from Islam. He is known as Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiyani. These people call for Islam in those European countries and elsewhere with astonishing activity, unfortunately, and they have been able to bring many of those Europeans into their Islam, so they believed what they believed about the permissibility of prophets coming after the Messenger (peace be upon him), including Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Did these people who embraced Qadiyani Islam hear of him (peace be upon him) in his true reality and the true reality of his call? And does this Islam benefit them or not? The answer is in the previous hadith . Whoever hears of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) other than in his character and his Shari'ah has not heard of him, and in that case, he is not among the tormented disbelievers in the Fire, because the argument has not been established against him. On the contrary, those who believed in him (peace be upon him) as one who says that prophethood after him is ongoing and continuing, and other Qadiyani beliefs—I am not now in a position to mention many of them, but I mentioned this by way of example—his statement (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in the first hadith Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2276Sahih (Darussalam) means that whoever sees me in my physical reality and my Muhammadan characteristics has seen me, because Satan does not take my form. Thus, we know that many of the dreams in which their owners claim to have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), when asked about the description of the person seen, answer that they saw him in a form that the Messenger (peace be upon him) was not in, as we gave you an example earlier of the gray-haired man whose beard is light. This is how he saw the Messenger, so this is a Satanic dream. Similarly, it happened to us that we asked, "How did you see the Messenger?" and the answer was that he saw him walking slowly, walking weakly. This is also contrary to his (peace and blessings be upon him) characteristics, as it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), when he walked, it was as if he was being lowered from a slope, an expression indicating that he (peace be upon him) walked with strength. So whoever describes him as walking weakly, it is not the Messenger (peace be upon him). And so we must understand this hadith, as well as the second hadith... It has a sound chain, but it has many routes, and through these routes it rose in my estimation and in the estimation of others who came before me to the level of a good hadith. In reality, it is one of the comprehensive statements of his (peace and blessings be upon him) words, because it contains many meanings in these few words Sunan Ibn Majah 2340Da'if (Darussalam). It includes many matters that occurred after his time (peace be upon him) by years, even centuries, such as smoke, hashish, opium, and similar harmful substances. This hadith forbids their use in this concise manner Sunan Ibn Majah 2340Da'if (Darussalam).

وما كنا معذبين حتى نبعث رسولاًThe answer is in a hadith similar to this one from the side of that hadith. It is what Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
There is no man from this Ummah, whether a Jew or a Christian, who hears of me
ما من رجل من هذه الأمة من يهودي أو نصراني يسمع بيThere is no man from this Ummah—meaning the Ummah of the call—whether a Jew or a Christian, who hears of me and then does not believe in me, except that he will enter the Fire
