What is the ruling on praying behind an imam who lets his garment hang below the ankles?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I entered the mosque and this imam is letting his garment hang below the ankles. Should I pray behind him?

The Shaykh : And why do you not pray behind him, as long as you know that the prayer is valid? But instead of asking whether you should pray behind him, you should advise him and remind him in the best manner. However, you do not act as your companions used to do with their rulers. They say to us in Syria: Ask Allah for those days whenThe Shaykh : the scholar would see the prince and his cloak dragging on the ground like a woman’s garment, so he would take the scissors and cut it. There is no need for such harshness in dealing with people, but the kind word does its work. So you should advise him and tell him not to lengthen his robe, his jacket, or his cloak. This is what I advise.
