Is it permissible for us to print your books and make them an endowment for Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. As for what follows, this is one of the tapes from the Hidayah wa al-Nur series of scholarly lessons and legal rulings by our Shaykh, Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani (may Allah preserve him). We ask Allah to benefit everyone with it. And now, with tape number one hundred and seventy-one.

The questioner : Do you grant us permission to print them, and write on them "Endowed for Allah, distributed for free outside Kuwait," and the printing rights are not with you?

The Shaykh : This is a problem with books that have been printed. My books have two types of printing. The more common type is printed at the expense of the printing house or the publisher or the like. This type requires permission from the printer and the publisher as well. This booklet is of this kind. The other section, which is less common, has no one with a right in it, so I can grant the publishing rights from my side, and that is easy. The letter, despite being small in size, has recently become the property of a Saudi publisher, as you may have seen.

The questioner : Al-Ma'arif Bookstore.

The Shaykh : So if you reach an agreement with him, I have no objection.

The questioner : Is he there.

The Shaykh : No, he is present here in Riyadh. Sometimes he comes here, but without a specific time.

The questioner : NameThe Shaykh : Do you know him?

The Shaykh : His name isThe Shaykh : Sa'd, what is it? Al-Rashid.

The questioner : Al-Ma'arif Bookstore.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.
