A barber who shaves the head and the beard: will his children’s bodies have grown from illicit earnings?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He shaves the hair of the head and the beard.

The Shaykh : May Allah heal him.

The questioner : This is the material he acquires; is it forbidden, if Allah wills?

The Shaykh : Of course.

The questioner : Now, this money that his children subsist on: does their body build up from it? That is, does the body become composed of what is forbidden?

The Shaykh : If they are young children who are not yet accountable, or if they are accountable but are not yet able to earn their livelihood with their own hands and the sweat of their brows, then it is not so. Do you understand me?

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : But if they are adults and are able to be independent of this forbidden earnings, then they fall under the general meaning of the hadith:
but hell is more fitting for all flesh which has grown out of what is unlawful
Mishkat al-Masabih 2772
.

The questioner : In that case, they must avoid this food that they acquire...

The questioner : Is there a hadith whose text is:
If his prayer does not deter him from indecency and wrongdoing
, so he has no prayer?

The Shaykh : If you are asking whether this hadith is authentic and established from the Messenger, the answer is no. However, it is narrated, but it is not authentic; it exists, but it has no value, meaning it is not authentic.

The questioner : He is saying, what is the hadith?

The Shaykh : It is not authentic. Furthermore, from another angle, it contradicts the verse:
Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing
[Al-'Ankabut 29:45]
. And there is a hadith:
That a man used to stand in prayer at night and steal during the day. It was said to him: O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so prays at night and steals during the day. He said: His prayer will deter him.
.

The questioner: Allah is the Greatest!!

The Shaykh : Therefore, it is not permissible for us to say:
Whoever his prayer does not deter
. It must deter him, but the deterrence of prayer for its performer against the disobedience of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, varies in degree, amount, and intensity. For example, if a person’s prayer is like that of a man carrying a heavy load, who does not know when he will throw this load off his neck, meaning he prays it in the minimum manner that makes it valid, then his prayer deters him to that extent. But the one who is at peace in it, as you have heard, or who is humble in it, and so on, this prayer deters more than the first. Is that clear?

The questioner : Yes, yes.

The Shaykh : Clear.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: Peace be upon you.
