What is the correct meaning of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): "When you send me a messenger, send one with a good-looking face"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. What is the correct understanding of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
When you send me a messenger, send one with a good-looking face إذا أبردتم إليَّ بريداً فابعثوه حسن الوجه
or as he (peace and blessings be upon him) said? And what is the wisdom behind choosing a good-looking face? And is that related to optimism or pessimism?

The Shaykh : Yes. The fact that the messenger who is sent, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) advised that he be good-looking, is a matter of optimism. It does not mean that a good-looking person is preferred by Allah (Mighty and Majestic) over an ugly one. Rather, this is a matter of optimism, as it is said: "Be optimistic about good, and you will find it."
Optimism is a desirable thing, unlike pessimism, which is of that nature. It does not mean preferring a good-looking face over an ugly one; because preference with Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) is only by beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds. This is the meaning of His saying (the Exalted):
Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ
[Al-Hujurat 49:13]
.
Or we do not lengthen it now so as not to go beyond the question. This is the summary of the answer to the question.
