The Ruling on the Hadith: (Take a good omen and you will find it)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
You also ask and say: What is the authenticity of this phrase? Is it a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
Take a good omen and you will find itتفاءلوا خيرًا تجدوه
?

Answer:
I do not know of any source for it in this wording, but it is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he
He loved a good omenكان يعجبه الفأل
. A good omen is a good word. As for (Take a good omen), this is the wording mentioned by the questioner; I do not know of any source for it in the authentic hadiths from him (peace and blessings be upon him). However, its meaning is correct; for he (peace and blessings be upon him) loved a good omen and forbade bad omens. A good omen is the good word that a Muslim hears, which brings him comfort and joy; this is called a good omen. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
And the best of them is a good omenوأحسنها الفأل
. He forbade bad omens and said:
And the best of them is a good omenوأحسنها الفأل
.
And a good omen, as mentioned earlier, is when one hears a good word, is pleased by it, and proceeds with his need, without it deterring him from his need. For example, a person looking for a lost item hears someone say: "O finder" or "O successful one!" and he rejoices in it. Or a sick person hears someone say: "O one who is healed" or "O one who is cured!" or something similar, and he rejoices in it, and it does not deter him from his need, or something similar to that. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
