The questioner : This is a questioner for the program. In his question, the questioner, who is Sudanese, says: “The honorable Shaykh, they say that the Messenger was created from light. Is this statement correct?”

The Shaykh : This statement is invalid. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) is from the descendants of Adam, and the lineage of his fathers and grandfathers is known. He himself (peace and blessings be upon him) explicitly stated what Allah commanded him to say. Allah the Exalted said to him:
Say, "I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. قُل إِنَّما أَنا بَشَرٌ مِثلُكُم يوحى إِلَيَّ أَنَّما إِلهُكُم إِلهٌ واحِدٌ
[Al-Kahf 18:110]
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said about himself:
Verily I am a human being like you, I forget just as you forget. إنما أنا بشر مثلكم أنسى كما تنسون
Sahih Muslim 572j
Thus, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was created from clay, as is the case with all the descendants of Adam. Those who were created from light are the angels. For created beings are of three categories: a category created from fire, which is Iblis and his offspring; a category created from light, which are the angels; and a category created from clay, which are Adam and his descendants. There is no fourth category. Therefore, this hadith, or report, or famous saying that our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was created from light is a lie with no basis. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
