The ruling on blood donation.

The questioner : A little on the same topic, no harm. Is blood donation not like that?
The Shaykh : It is not like that, because there is nothing in this blood that constitutes mutilation, but the previous condition applies. In other words, I am telling you about myself, and perhaps there is a lesson in that. Blood donation should be from a person who has excess blood, and who has strength and vitality such that he is compensated by the food and drink he consumes. As I said earlier, blood donation is not permissible except with the opinion of a doctor supervising the health of this donor. Otherwise, one may fall into the same prohibition or something similar to the previous prohibition. You donate your blood and your health declines. Do you understand? And the example, I think, is also me. I have felt some dizziness and headache for sixty years or more, and this is from the favor of my Lord; I do not know it, meaning, except very rarely. I was told that I must have my blood count checked. So I went to the blood bank, as they call it. They pricked me a few times here on the tip of my finger, took drops of blood, and tested it, and so on. The answer was that I do not know the medical term, but the level or strength of your blood is twenty-one, whereas it must be fourteen or fifteen.
The questioner : Eighteen is the highest...
The Shaykh : Eighteen.
The questioner : Eighteen is the most.
The Shaykh : Eighteen is the most, meaning from eight to fifteen. So they said it is necessary to take a liter of blood from you. And indeed, they took a liter of blood from me, and indeed, I felt that this dizziness went away. But afterwards, I relapsed. I do not wrong those doctors, but I say that perhaps the cause is that I am still complaining about this relapse: my white blood cells are deficient. They mention a huge number there, and no matter how much I treated it and no matter how many medications I took, and so on, if they say there is progress, it is slight progress that is not worth mentioning. I fear, and I fear greatly, that this deficiency is the result of that extraction. This extraction is a philosophy of mine; the doctors may accept it or may not. That extraction does not take only the red blood cells; everything in it, so it is possible that a number of white blood cells that I needed were extracted. Allah knows best. And to this day, I am complaining about this deficiency. We ask Allah that our Lord help us to meet with our brothers and maintain the prayer in congregation to the extent of our ability, and so on. So if blood donation is within these limits and conditions, I have no objection to it, because it does not fall under the mutilation that is prohibited, first of all. And after that, it falls under the generality of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 2199a. This is with the previous condition. Sunan Ibn Majah 2340Da'if (Darussalam) Is the answer clear? Good.
The questioner : A man died before he died, and another man has a heart disease. They said, in order to benefit from the heart, to save this person, what is your opinion on this?
The Shaykh : The answer has already been given.
The questioner : It is the same, yes. It is not permissible to cut open the heart of a dead person, and especially a dead Muslim, because it involves mutilation, and because of the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him):. We mentioned this regarding the kidney because the question came up. Anything that involves mutilation of the dead is absolutely not permissible. For example, a person dies and is buried in the grave, and his family come claiming that he was betrayed, strangled, and so on. We want to know the perpetrator. The forensic doctor, or the one who claims to be a forensic doctor—these are names today that are called by other names: forensic doctor, Islamic bank, Sharia court.
The questioner : Sharia judge.
The Shaykh : Islamic office.
Al-Halabi : ... Islamic.
The Shaykh : And Islamic socialism, and so on.[An-Najm 53:23]. The forensic doctor comes and says: It is necessary to extract the body of the dead person from his grave and cut open his belly to know the cause of death. This is not permissible. His matter is finished, and he has moved from the world of this life to the world of the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection). Do not imagine that when this person is placed in the grave—imagine this reality with me, because it is a reality and not an illusion, and few think about it—when this dead person is placed in the grave and given the prescribed or the innovated instruction (and the latter is what mostly happens today, unfortunately), if he comes to you and asks you: Who is your Lord? Who is your Prophet? What is your religion? And so on, and you say such and such, and so on. And indeed, the two angels, Munkar and Nakir, came and asked him, and he gave the answer. Either he succeeded or he failed, as they say about us in Syria: "Do you know?" Then the forensic doctor comes and says: Expose the dead person. They exposed the dead person, took him, placed him on the dissection table, dissected him, and the forensic doctor ruled on something that does not concern us. And he is returned to his grave. Do the two angels come and ask him? Of course not. The two angels do not come and ask him. Why? Because when he entered the world of the barzakh, the questioning came to him, so the questioning is not repeated to him. Therefore, this is an encroachment on this dead person after he has moved from the world of this life to the world of the barzakh, which is a world between the two worlds: the world of this life and the world of the Hereafter. Therefore, you must be aware that this is a rule that covers everything that requires cutting open the belly of the dead person and mutilating him, whether it is from a kidney, a heart, or I do not know, other things, a nerve in the brain, or whatever it is. This is not permissible.
The questioner : As for donation, this is under our ownership and our will.
The Shaykh : There is no harm and no reciprocating harm. May Allah bless you.
The questioner : As for extracting a dead person by an official legal order that the family of the dead person cannot refuse...
The questioner: This is a second issue.
The Shaykh : This is a second issue, meaning, if we are striving now, each according to his capacity, his ijtihad (independent legal reasoning), and his opinion, to establish the Islamic society and implement Islamic rule, then when we speak these words, we know that much of it goes to waste. Why? Because we do not have the power to implement it; it is in the hands of the state. But when we speak, it is to raise the awareness of the ummah (the Muslim community) in case the Islamic state truly rises. Will this forensic doctor exist on the day of the established Islamic state? The answer is no. And therefore, such a question is not directed to us. Yes.
