Requesting the Shaykh to clarify the reality of the Muslim ummah (the Muslim community), the causes of its weakness and humiliation, and the causes of its rise and empowerment.

The Shaykh: Yes.
Abu Layla : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings, and His forgiveness.
Abu Layla : How are you this evening, our Shaykh?
The Shaykh : We have had a good evening, and the evening belongs to Allah, and all praise is due to Allah.
Abu Layla : May Allah bless you and benefit us through you.
The Shaykh : May Allah preserve you, and how are you?
Abu Layla : Praise be to Allah, our Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Yes.
Abu Layla : I have here about five hundred of the brothers.
The Shaykh : What Allah willed.
Abu Layla : The religion of the Loving Ones. The student : To the clear truth, if Allah wills, the Exalted.
The Shaykh : What Allah willed, may Allah bless you all.
Abu Layla : Their state of being is to greet you.
The Shaykh : And some of their tongues say so, from some of them.
Abu Layla : You spoke the truth, may Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : And I say:
Abu Layla : Let us make use of the time, Professor, if it is a piece of advice related to the gathering and the conference for which we gathered with the brothers, and its title is "The Reality of the Muslim Ummah: Causes of Weakness and the Path to Rise," and may Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : We ask Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to grant us and you success in knowing the truth and following it. In response to what you asked, I say: Praise is to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whom Allah guides, none can mislead, and whom He leaves to mislead, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger.[Ali 'Imran 3:102] [An-Nisa 4:1] [Al-Ahzab 33:70-71] As for what follows, the best of speech is the speech of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation (bid'ah), and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire. And after that, it is not hidden from any of you that the bad reality of the Muslims today in this era we live in is, without doubt, the worst that has befallen the Muslims in all their later eras, which does not need to be described to anyone because they live it and experience it. We all know the spread of open sinfulness (fisq), the types of open sinfulness and lewdness in the Islamic world, and few are those who still hold fast to the word of truth and the following of the Book and the Sunnah. As for the majority, as the Lord of the Worlds said: [Al-A'raf 7:187] And as He said in the other verse: [Yusuf 12:106]
Abu Layla : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.
The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and Allah's mercy and blessings, and His forgiveness.

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتّقوا الله حقّ تقاته و لا تموتنّ إلا و أنتم مسلمونO mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
يا الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله و قولوا قولا سديدا يصلح لكم أعمالكم و يغفر لكم ذنوبكم و من يطع الله و رسوله فقد فاز فوزا عظيماbut most of the people do not know."
و لكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمونAnd most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him.
و ما يؤمن أكثرهم بالله إلا و هم مشركون
