Is the hadith (Fast and you will be healthy) authentic, and if it is not, what is the basis for rejecting it?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is the hadith
Fast, and you will be healthy صوموا تصحوا
authentic, and if it is not, what is the basis for rejecting it?

The Shaykh : This hadith completely contradicts the previous hadith, the last one, where we said that it is weak in chain and invalid in text. This one is weak in chain but correct in text.
Fast, and you will be healthy صوموا تصحوا
It is like the hadith narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the manner of the scholars of hadith, where its chain is not authentic, but reality bears witness to it, and before that, the general hadiths, such as his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
It is sufficient for a person to have a few mouthfuls that straighten his back. If it is necessary, then one-third for food, one-third for drink, and one-third for breath. بحسب امرئ لقيمات يقمن صلبه فإن كان لا بد فثلث للطعام و ثلث للشراب و ثلث للنفس
So a hadith like this confirms what also came in another hadith, and it has no basis at all, but it is medical wisdom: "Diet is the head of medicine, and the stomach is the head of disease." Therefore, this hadith
Fast, and you will be healthy صوموا تصحوا
is not authentic as being attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but its meaning is correct as we have mentioned. And the meaning of our saying that it is not authentic as being attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is that it is not permissible for a Muslim to say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Fast, and you will be healthy صوموا تصحوا
As you may hear that on some radio stations. This is not permissible. Why? Because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever says something about me that I did not say, let him take his place in Hell. من قال عليّ ما لم أقل فليتبؤ مقعده من النار
Musnad Ahmad 469Hasan (Darussalam)
Whoever says something about me that I did not say, let him take his place in Hell. من قال عليّ ما لم أقل فليتبؤ مقعده من النار
Musnad Ahmad 469Hasan (Darussalam)
So it is not permissible for a Muslim to say a word, even if in reality it is wise and acceptable in light of the general evidence of the Shari'ah. It is not permissible for a Muslim to say: The Messenger of Allah said such and such, unless it is established by the methods that establish the hadiths of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) according to the people of knowledge of hadith. Yes.
