The first question of Fatwa number ( 18559 )
Q1: Is it established that these two hadiths are authentic in their narration, or what is the case? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Fast, and you will be healthyصوموا تصحوا
, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The sleep of Ramadan is worshipنوم رمضان عبادة
?

A:First:The word:
Fast, and you will be healthyصوموا تصحوا
is part of a weak hadith, narrated byal-Tabaraniin al-Awsatand Abu Nu'aymfromAbu Hurayrah, and it was narrated byIbn 'AdifromIbn 'Abbas, and in its chainNahshl, whose hadith is abandoned.Second:The phrase: "Sleeping in Ramadan is worship" — we are not aware of any hadith with this exact wording, but it was reported with the wording:
The sleep of the fasting person is worshipنوم الصائم عبادة
It was mentioned byal-Suyutiin (al-Jami' al-Saghir), and he attributed it toal-Bayhaqi, and he marked it as weak, and in its chainMa'ruf ibn Hassan, is weak. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
