Abu Malik’s warning regarding the issue that pleasing people is a goal that cannot be attained.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Abu Malik: I will say, meaning, a final word, and I hope you will pay attention to it. It is that the ultimate goal of people’s satisfaction is a goal that cannot be attained, whereas the satisfaction of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, can be attained. If you permit me, allow me to say to you: If you obey Allah and seek His pleasure, while the people are in His anger and you oppose His command, then you must compare between two things. But as I told you, if you want to reach the fruit or the expected result, you must proceed according to these two matters.

The Shaykh: And what are they?
Abu Malik: Yes?

The Shaykh: And what are they?
Abu Malik: They are, first, that you continue to emphasize and confirm to people that this matter or this adhan is not the correct, lawful adhan. This requires you to seek help from Allah first, and from your sons second, in clarifying the proof and the ability to explain the truth to people. The second matter is that you must actually have the conviction that carries you to change, enjoining good and forbidding evil. Therefore, I say finally: The satisfaction of people is a goal that cannot be attained, and the satisfaction of Allah can be attained. The satisfaction of Allah is attained by obeying Him and incurring the anger of the people, and the satisfaction of people is attained by obeying them and agreeing with what is in them of desire, thereby angering Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So choose one of the two matters, and may Allah bless you.
