If a father dislikes his son for no reason and separates from him, keeping his distance, what should the son do?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Even the father, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Even the father? How? Is he living with the father, or is he away from the father?

The questioner : He is far from him.

The Shaykh : Far from him? Did the father distance himself from him, or did he distance himself from his father?

The questioner : His father.

The Shaykh : May Allah guide you. Does he not know how to answer? Perhaps you should speak and expose your situation, but it is better for you to remain silent.

The questioner : His father is the one who distanced himself.

The Shaykh : Yes, so if his father distanced himself from him, he should not distance himself from him. Do you see? He should maintain contact with him. Let his constant practice with him be as Allah the Exalted said:
(23) And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (24) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
[Al-Isra 17:23-24]
. He should be extremely polite with him and extremely gentle with him. He should enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, within the limits of what is right. Because, unfortunately, I know of some sons, may Allah guide them, while their fathers remained in their misguidance. So the sons became aggressive toward them, tyrannized over them, raised their heads, and began to quarrel with them, as if there were no relationship between them, between the father and the son. This is a very grave error. The father and mother have rights, even if they are no longer alive, or even if they are polytheists. It is obligatory to be polite with them and to treat them with kindness. So, if, as mentioned in your question or your answer, the father distanced the son, he should swallow his anger, remain silent, and try to treat his father well, to the extent of his ability. He should not raise his voice at him or cut him off, because the father has rights over him. But he should try to advise him in the best manner. This is the answer regarding the parents.
