Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The honorable Shaykh observes that some people, when they wish to leave the mosque, greet the imam or the congregation, and this may be before they have finished reciting the dhikr that is said after the prayer. What is the ruling on this? I ask you to clarify this, may Allah guide you so that the benefit is widespread. And is it sometimes good to do this to reconcile hearts?

The Shaykh : As for greeting when leaving the mosque, I see no harm in this, even though I do not know of a sunnah from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding it. However, the general evidence for the prescription of greeting when leaving may include this issue. As for what some people do, where they greet the imam while sitting after finishing the prayer without leaving, this is a bid'ah (religious innovation) and is not prescribed, because it has no cause, and the greeting from the prayer is sufficient for this. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you and bless you.
