What is the meaning of the hadith regarding Hajj: "And do in your 'Umrah what you do in your Hajj"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Okay, Shaykh,
Do in your 'Umrah what you do in your Hajj اصنع في عمرتك ما تصنعه في حجتك
?

The Shaykh : It means to complete the acts of 'Umrah as you do in Hajj, because he had entered the state of ihram for 'Umrah.

The questioner : Okay, Shaykh, in Hajj one performs the farewell tawaf, so does one also do that in 'Umrah?

The Shaykh : My brother, no one says that. In truth, you are attributing to the hadiths what they cannot bear. Does the one performing 'Umrah stand at 'Arafah?

The questioner : No, this is outside the scope of scholarly consensus.

The Shaykh : What does scholarly consensus exclude? You always resort to consensus. The important point is that this hadith came regarding the one who entered ihram for what? For 'Umrah. So he was told, "Do in your 'Umrah what you do in your Hajj" from what is known. It is not known in the Shari'ah that the one performing 'Umrah must perform the farewell tawaf. And Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I testify that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and I repent to You.

The questioner : He told me, "Look at the Shaykh's response to you. May Allah grant you a treat at the end of this session."

The Shaykh : We say, "Ameen, ameen, ameen," and may He gather us all in love for Allah. Muhammad al-Shamimari.

The Shaykh : Where is this?

The questioner : I have it in al-Qasim. Shaykh, do you not need it? Do you have it?

The Shaykh : No, I want to print it in an edition other than this one. You reminded me...

The questioner : Look, this is about the hijab, do not forget it.

The Shaykh : I am not forgetting it.
Al-Halabi: No, the book on the hijab, may Allah preserve the Shaykh from forgetting it...

The Shaykh : This is it, ...

The questioner : That is enough, Shaykh, do not forget this issue.

The Shaykh : And I say, where is the book that 'Abdullah himself printed? This one was printed by a hateful person.

The questioner : May Allah guide him and reform him, if he is alive.
