Exegesis of the Qur'an, its meanings, rulings, and etiquettes. What are the best methods for interpreting the Noble Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : ... that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) appointed His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to interpret the Noble Qur'an for them and to clarify the meanings that they might need explained and made clear, because the clarification mentioned in the verse is a general clarification
And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them وأنزلنا إليك الذكر لتبيّن للنّاس ما نزّل إليهم ...
[An-Nahl 16:44]
Therefore, the plan of the scholars of exegesis has always been, and will always be, that the best method for interpreting the Noble Qur'an is to interpret the Qur'an by the Qur'an. If there is a general verse and a specific verse, the specific verse is applied to the general verse and clarifies it. If there is nothing in the Qur'an that interprets a verse, one looks to the hadith. The first rank is interpreting the Qur'an by the Qur'an, and the second rank is interpreting the Qur'an by the Sunnah. Without doubt, what is intended by the general term, as you know, is the authentic Sunnah. If there is nothing in the authentic Sunnah that clarifies the verse, then we return to the third rank, which is interpreting the verse by the statements of the Companions. And so on; if it is not found, then the verse is interpreted by the statements of the Tabi'un, up to the three generations who have been attested to as the best. Here, one must pause for a moment regarding the interpretation we mentioned, from the interpretation of the Companions, the Tabi'un, and their followers, which is symbolized by scholars as the transmitted interpretation (al-tafsir al-ma'thur). The transmitted interpretation first includes the words of the Messenger, then the Companions, then the Tabi'un, and then their followers. A student of knowledge may find in these interpretations statements from some of the Companions that differ in the interpretation of a certain verse. In that case, one must look into it, and this is one of the principles of the science of exegesis. One must look at these apparently differing statements to see if the difference is one of contradiction or one of variety. If it is a difference of contradiction, then the scholar must necessarily use his knowledge.
